This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 3–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (224) 480-4403. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, lachuparosa.co.

Everything was delicious. For the appetizer, i irdered the taco Dlor de Jamaica. It was a vegetarian option and savory and tantilizing. I ordered the Pistachio Crust Salmon and it was sweet, tangy, lemony, and the side of vegetables were grilled and filled with flavor. I sat on the deck and it was lovely. The service was excellent. It was a great meal.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and were very impressed to have food of this quality in Waukegan. We came during happy hour and enjoyed sangria and a margarita plus appetizers on special - the tinga taquitos were fantastic with perfect flavor combinations and crunch. The Mexican corn ribs were also delicious. We shared the ribeye with pickled onions and jalapeno and it was tender and well seasoned. The portion was large so we were glad we shared. Then the ice cream dessert, which ended up being much larger than we expected! My husband loved the ube flavor, and I enjoyed the tequila and cheesecake flavors. The staff recognized our anniversary when they brought out the dessert. The only thing I would change is having slightly larger tables as we were shuffling things around to make room on the small table. Overall we loved the experience and look forward to eating again at this restaurant. Our compliments to the chef!

First, I have to say that it's very loud in this restaurant. And that was before they started doing off-key karaoke. The food was interesting and okay. Service was slow but friendly. The biggest issue and the reason I give them such a low rating, is there policy on groups and credit cards. They charged us a mandatory 25% gratuity on our party of 12 and an additional charge for using a credit card but nothing was posted anywhere about these charges ahead of time or said to us when we made the reservation. So a $450 bill became $680. Then they told us they would make it $600 even if we just paid cash. Clearly the math doesn't work and those kind of policies should be listed up front. This was supposed to be a going away party for valued team member and it was a bad experience. We will be taking our local business traffic elsewhere in the future.

From the moment I walked through the door, I just knew that the food and service was going to be top notch. The Chef personally came by our table and customized our dinner experience with his personal touch. One dish after another came out and it was hard to imagine how everyone of them was so uniquely delicious and made you craving more. I can’t wait for my next visit! Outstanding experience

Okay I have no idea what just happened to my review but it's a great place we came here for brunch. I had the gold plated pancakes. And yes you do πŸ’© gold the next day. Ridiculous but the urban myth is true. Everything was fantastic even the orange juice. The place is very fancy and they had amazing looking pastries of all different kinds, I was already full so I couldn't have possibly tried one. Part of it is set up like a cafe but wasn't sure if it was for takeout coffee or not. The food was delicious and presented very well. The fruit was fresh and amazing, I have no complaints about this place at all. Even the bathrooms are fancy. We originally thought it was closed because the full length windows are mirrored and I couldn't tell if the open sign was illuminated or not. I'm glad we tried, best meal I've had in awhile. They charge you slightly more for card though I'd asked but maybe she didn't understand me. We were speaking both Spanish and English I would have paid cash otherwise. I would probably go out to eat more if Illinois taxes weren't so high.
